Alderman Jacobs goes for gold!

Alderman Jacobs School in Whittlesey have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for
the 2023/24 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Our sporting achievements this year include: taking part in a range of sporting tournaments including Fenland Quick Sticks Hockey, girls and boys football, Whittlesey Schools Cricket, rounders festival and a Daily Mile sports and nutrition event at Posh Weston Homes Stadium. All children at school have enjoyed Sports Day (which included a Year 6 triathlon using our outdoor pool) and Healthy Lifestyles Day where dance, trampolining, basketball, cricket and other sports were experienced by all, supported by young sports leaders from Sir Harry Smith Community College.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfill criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

A special thanks to PE and Sport leader, Mrs Hayley Cradock, for her dedication and hard
work in organising all sporting events.
