Career Day at AJS

On Friday 7th of March, Alderman Jacobs held their annual 'Careers Day' to learn about a range of aspirational careers throughout our community and in the wider world.
The workshops were led by many different volunteers from the Police, Fire Service, Community Midwives, Nurses, Builders, Beauticians, Bakers, Young Technicians, Kickboxing Instructors, Caterpillar/Perkins STEM engineers, Cadent gas engineers, St John's ambulance, Doctors, Vets, a farmer, Shark Biologist and many more.
Careers Day organiser, Hazel Montgomery said 'It was amazing to see the buzz around school today.' Many of the volunteers were parents and people from the local community. The children's aspirations were lifted as they learnt about different roles. They talked about what subjects were needed for each career, learnt to build walls, launch rockets, bake bread and learn about so many different skills in such a practical way. The children were fully engaged and learnt some life-long skills.
