Thank you from Mrs Sargent
Dear Children, Parents, Carers and
friends,
Many thanks for such a brilliant farewell
last term. I couldn't have wished for more and although sad
to say goodbye, I enjoyed every minute with you all in my
final few days. I was overwhelmed by your kindness, cards
and lovely gifts. I will treasure all the memories I have of
my sixteen years at Alderman Jacobs School and of my final
few weeks. I do wish everyone a happy and prosperous New
Year and children, work hard during this term.
Best wishes, Mrs Sargent. |

1960's Festival - Year 6
This year children in Year 6 enjoyed our first ever 1960's
Festival, which was fully planned by the children as part of
their Mantle of the Expert work. The children became
festival organisers, deciding on the music, food, decoration
and clothing they would wear. The classrooms became a
fashion house whilst they tie-dyed, and created unusual
flower power garments. They listened to alive performer who
took them through a musical journey of the 60s, bringing the
magic of this era to life for them. They waved their
banners, danced and just sat about chilling with their
friends as their Grandparents would have done over forty
years ago! |

Children In Need
We collected pennies for Pudsey this year as part of the
fundraising for Children in Need. This year Mrs Bielawski
persuaded a huge groups of assistants to come in to work
with children and count the pennies. Each child brought in
what they could and covered Pudsey in pennies. Together they
raised a fantastic £609.74 - the highest amount we have
raised for them.

Oliver Twist at Alderman Jacobs School
Children at Alderman Jacobs School were entertained in
November by Working Space Theatre with their production of
Oliver Twist. Though performed by just two actresses, they
brought the characters to life through the use of clever
costumes and the use of various accents. Over two
performances children from across school saw the show, and
eight children were fortunate to be selected to play a small
role in the presentation.

Science Quiz
Children from Alderman Jacobs won the recent area heat. The
team members, Hannah, Ben, Phillip and Andrew did
phenomenally well. Sarah Teasdale, Gifted and Talented
Leader commented, "I was extremely impressed with the
breadth and depth of the children's scientific knowledge and
understanding. I felt very proud of the way they represented
Alderman Jacobs School and we are looking forwards to the
next round."
